Lessons in Lettering : 02

October 29, 2015

It’s been a little while since the first installment of Lessons in Lettering, so let’s get rolling already!  I’ve been practicing a few new hand lettering styles as well as perfecting with a new nib. Holy crap I LOVE the Brause 66 Extra Fine nib. Hello to those beautifully thin lines that have been hard to get until now!calligraphy

Today’s lesson, thanks to this awesome quote: Once in a while, blow your own damn mind. What’s that even mean? We are all human and can’t be perfect every day and maybe some days we can’t even put our best foot forward. But once in a while….once in a while, we can blow our own damn minds. With work, with our families and with any great life decision. What do you want? If you want it bad enough, you can make it happen. And when you make it happen, you will totally blow your own mind. I plan to blow my own damn mind. I think each day I get closer….stay tuned! And for starters, I gotta say I’m super pumped that all these photos were shot in manual mode! (I’m gett’in it!) Do things you don’t think you can do and you will realize your capabilities. You’ll never know unless you try, right?calligraphy calligraphy calligraphy

Tell me, have you blown your own damn mind lately? What have you done?

How much do I love your quote and your concept. Blowing my own mind sounds like a really cool thing to do. Your technique is lovely and your photography so does not suck. Good for you ! And thank you for the reminder!
